Cold Joins. Experiments in cold joining In a twist to the plot I am experimenting with returning the cast vine to the vine it came from. Will be interesting to see if it takes. This is a piece i want to use for a necklace. It is a vine cast in bronze. I love the curves. You can still see the sprue on the right. The curves reminded me of the Whiplash curve from Art Nouveau. The Whiplash curve is one of my favourite things as you can see I find it really hard to replicate! This is the same links from a different angle I then started to play with different link types to see if I could create something that replicates the curves in the cast piece. I have finally narrowed it down to these two chain types. I find the on on the left more interesting but the one of the right echos the piece better but not enough. I want to try and make some organic shapes with it. and adding a pearl will be a nice contrast with the beautiful texture on the inside.
